This was taken this afternoon before sunset when Hubby was driving along the long hi-way of Corniche which is along the sea side. It’s getting hot here in Qatar now a days. Summer is really here. This afternoon the temperature was 40 degrees C. We’re expecting to have a higher temperature by June.

DAY 124

iTech Qatar Exhibition 2010

DAY 122

And here we are for the last day of our exhibit in Qatar Expo. Me and a colleague was assigned to promote the Starlink Products and services. It was a great exhibit to promote the services that our company has to offer for the people of Qatar.

Day 1 and 2, I wasn’t able to attend since Hubby was so busy with their new project that launched last Thursday. I even brought Julia with me last Saturday at the exhibit and left Maricel work for more than 2 hours alone since a friend who volunteered to baby sit on her failed to do the task. Julia was not cooperative with him that she vomited on his clothes from the time they picked her up from her day baby sitter until they reached us from the exhibit which was a long drive that took them an hour to get to our place. I really thank Sajid for the efforts though. I’m sure he’ll be a great dad in the future.

So back to the exhibit, we had a good sales for day 1, that was yesterday. But today, we closed our sales only around 4k I think. But the good thing was we enjoyed our time and we learned a lot from our competitors in this type of business. I can’t wait to have an exhibit like this. And I hope that next time, the schedule will fit my sched.

Here are some more photos to share with you guys.

This was taken when we were wrapping up and ready to leave.

This guy is lucky to have us both in his side, haha!

It’s Raining!

It’s been raining here in Doha for quite some time now. That means winter is coming. This is the 2nd day straight that we’re experiencing a night of showers. We can hear thru the AC’s the splat of each rain drops.

This is why Julia’s having runny nose and so do I. The change of climate from humid to sudden coldness makes us feel so low and lazy.

The good thing though is that we can wear our winter clothes, but another disadvantage is that our clothes will not easily dry up because of the cold air. Ugh! Oh well, I love winter still. Even without the snow, it’s much better rather than facing the extreme heat.

Picnic at the Park

Just to change our moods, today we decided to take lunch at one of the famous park right now here in Doha. Aside from the all time favorite Corniche which is along the sea side, we went just behind Hyatt Plaza and beside Villaggio Mall (where I’m working at). A 10 minutes drive from our place.

We fetch BIL from work around 4pm and off we go the the park.

Here are some photos to share.

BIL’s Arrival

Finally he’s here!

Answered prayer. BIL arrived last 5th of April – 9AM Qatar time. We’ve been waiting for him since December. It was worth a wait.

Hubby and I are so happy coz finally, he’s here with us. He can start a new life again and will be able to help out and to support his family. BIL and I are like brothers in blood. I grew up with knowing him not like as a brother in law but as a real kuya. We’re all girls in the family and when my eldest sister got married, I was at the age of starting to remember things. 7 years old was like the most unforgettable years of my life. We went to Saudi Arabia to settle down for a while – Mom and Dad looked for a greener pasture in the middle east so I was like grew up without any playmate at all.

Kuya worked in Medina (southern part of the Kingdom) way back 1990’s and during the holiday season, he stayed with us for a week. We played Nintendo and he’s always there for me kahit na alam nyang makulit ako. That’s why when he left back to work, I cried as in. I’m so proud that Hubby and I was able to help him find a work. This is the only way for me to help my loving sister and their kids who means a lot to me.

Visit to the Zoo

Was supposed to blog about this on my other blog but wanted to share some photos so I decided to blog it here nalang.

WARNING: Photo Overload!

Last Friday, Hubby and I decided again to visit Doha Zoo since Mom’s still here. Para naman makita nya ang Zoo ng Doha. Friday is a family day so naging crowded ang place. With the new lens Hubby gave me, I took tons of photos which made our visit to the Zoo more exciting since I was able to zoom in to the maximum level, todo na ‘to!

Not so much to say, so here are some photos nalang to share.

Bb Julia of course sleeping all day during our trip inside the park. Pag talaga layasan laging tulog si Bb Julia.bbjuliazoo

Yes, this is my savior! My Mommy ever. She’ll be leaving on April 25th – ngayon palang naiiyak na ako kasi for sure I’ll miss her. She’s taking care of Bb Julia while me and Hubby is at work. By the time we arrived from work, dinner’s ready and Bb Julia all cuddled up sleeping beside her. Huhuhu! I’ll be doing everything again once umalis na siya. DSC_0145DSC_0200

Never had the chance to feed the giraffes so bumawi nalang ako by feeding this cute deer and the national animal of Qatar, Oryx.DSC_0208DSC_0210

Working Working

I haven’t shared with you guys where I’m working right now, so just to share – I’m currently working under the Direct Sales Department as a Retails Sales Executive with Starlink. Starlink just started it’s business 2 years ago and proud to say that I’m one of the pioneers.

Starlink is one of the premium distributor of Qtel Telecom – which is the only network provider here in Qatar. We’re like a business center for them – just like back home, Globe / Smart Business Center. And aside from that, we’re the main dealer of Showtime Sattelite TV  as well.

I love my job. Very challenging since everyday we get to meet different people as they inquire with our products – especially with Showtime. So hard to close a deal with this one. Kaya ang english ko, ganun ganun nalang kung mabulol especially if the customer is British. But speaking with Scottish customers are worst. They are eating their words kasi! Hahaha!

Going to work for 12hrs straight per day – here’s my 2nd home. That’s why every off aside from checking blogs, need to focus as well on how to nurture Bb Julia. Hehehe! So bare with me for those who keeps on droppin’ by here. As much as I wanted to blog everday, I can’t – super tired sometimes so instead of sitting infront of the laptop, I’d rather go to sleep – hehehe! Gtg, need to blog hop na.

Starlink Christmas Party 2008

xmasBallsHi everyone! How’s your Christmas celebration? I’ve been checking some of my OL buddies’ blog but seems that they’re still collecting photos of the celebration. No one is updating as of this time. Nabibitin tuloy ako, excited na ako to see what’s up with you mga ate’s ko.

Hubby and I are Muslims so we’re not celebrating the Christmas however me being a Filipino, it’s a tradition already for my family to celebrate and simply get together eating dinner back home. My parents are Christians anyway. Mom’s here with us so we need to make her feel like it’s Christmas here in Qatar as well – para di ma homesick ata baka umiyak na naman si Mudra. For me, it’s not about the religion, it’s about how you get together once a year showing your love thru giving gifts. Besides, it’s the season to be with your family and enjoy the spirit of the holidays.

We were invited over to join our Christmas Party for our company together with our dear friends. The party of course started late since most of the staffs are working late upto 10pm. Our Customer Service work late as well up to 12mn so the game didn’t start with out them – naks! Though we ate already since most of us are starving already.

Thanks to the bright ideas of kuya Angelo and Lyn, the party was as a success. Not that exciting like last year though. Last year, all flat (room) prepared a dance presentation and I guess last year we were more/many compare to this year’s party. A lot of our colleagues left already. Kuya Giovanni decided to continue his uncles’ business back home, kuya Ruel rended his resignation and same to ate Verna who continued her career in Oman. The big boss have bigger plans for next year, so we’re hoping to have more staffs as well and I’m keeping my fingers cross that we’ll have a successful launch to the new workshops that we’ll open in the future.

Anyways, we ate dinner of course. They prepared the all time famous Pansit, Mechado, Cheese sticks {shucks! konti lang nakain ko nito}, Filipino Rice, Beef Steak and Fried Chicken.

Then we played games starting from HepHep Hooray, Banana Eating contest and lastly BINGO! And for the jackpot round of Bingo, the 1st Prize is a 21” TV – oh diba, bonggang bonga!

Here are tons of pictures to share.

WARNING: Photo Overload!

Mommy and Me behind the not so fancy Xmas tree.

Hubby and best buds Wael dacing “GILING-GILING” – I forced him to dance, praktisado yan si Hubby – everyday ba naman nakakanood ng TFC eh, hehehe! The other was with his staff Rick dancing on the tune of “Papa-Boogie”; Hubby don’t dance during parties actually, but I just told him to for fun. He’s such a good sports, hehehe! Kahit parehas kaliwa paa nyan, ok lang sa kanya.

Kuya Lauro from our Installation team won the prize for HepHep Hooray.

Ninang Joy and I played Pinoy Henyo. Yehey! We won also. And the word to guess was “COCKROACH”. So easy para kay Joy yan kasi marami nyan sa Flat #3, hehehe! Joke lang.

Mojo and Ezel getting ready to play the Banana Eating contest.

However, newly weds Carol and Romel won the game.

Hubby was called to play the game but got disqualified kasi nalaglag yung banana eh, hehehe! Sayang! Pangkabuhayan show case pa naman yung prize, joke!

Eric shouting out the numbers seriously pa ha and the rest just having  a good time

Mommy won the 2nd prize! Yehey!

So much pictures to share but blogger’s giving up on me again. Thank you looking up on this entry and I do hope you had fun as well on the night of the 24th. It’s time for you to show your
holiday parties, leave some love so I may take a peek as well.

Advance Happy New Year everyone

Black Out

I woke up seeing hubby playing with Bb Julia instead of the usual thing he do every morning which is sitting in front of his PC checking his emails and browsing the internet. He then told me that our electricity is currently down. I said to myself “NAPUTULAN TAYO NG KURYENTE?!” – he then laugh out loud and explained that there are workers outside that are fixing something on the street and that they need to shut off the power which affects 3 villas – and we’re so unfortunate that we’re 1 of them, sniff! :(

It’s hubby’s off – so bad luck to him! He kept on walking around the house, scratching his hair and then will sit on the sofa because of boredom. Too bad for hubby. So we took some shots instead with our Niknok and played around with it.

darksweetyHere’s the hubby holding a light. I asked him to do a shot for me but unfortunately he can’t make it too dark or I guess I’m just too pangit in the picture kaya the result is not the same like his. Feel na feel ng lolo nyo magpa-picture, talaga nga naman oh!

Here is our center piece. So dramatic noh? Imagine Middle East where Gas and Oil are being produced is out of electricity? My litle Camel – naku dami dito nyan!

And finally my master piece. I’m leaving you with this light to guide your way for the coming Christmas day. Merry Christmas everyone!candlelight

Qatar National Day

18th of December is Qatar’s National Day. It’s an official holiday for all. We were supposed to visit The Pearl again but the weather was around 16 degrees C already and it will be too cold for Bb Julia. We don’t like to take the risk for she might get cold again.

I was watching TV when I heard like thundering sound outside. I asked hubby if it was raining, he looked out the window and said that it was not raining and that it was just my imagination and a side effect of being at home for almost 2 months already. Jologs! Ako na naman pinag tripan ni mokong. Then his phone rang and it was Mohammad a dear friend of ours {God Father ni Bb Julia} saying to look outside coz there’s a firework display. Hayun! Kaya pala may kumukulog! It lightened me up knowing na di pa pala ako baliw, hahaha! Totoo ngang may naririnig ako, hahaha!

I took some pictures using my new lenses. It was too difficult to take a good shot since my hands were freezing cold, hahaha! Pasmado pa ako, bwahaha! qday2

The sky was suddenly full of smoke and lights all over the West Bay Area also known as the Corniche. We’re leaving on the 3rd floor – rooftop so we got the chance to see that memorable night for all the Qataris. Happy Independence day to Qatar!qday1
