A friend of ours over Twitter announces the big news to us yesterday. Her son just turned 3 recently. And it’s her birthday as well yesterday. Now she’s pregnant again. She and some friends just arrived from a quick get away from Boracay, and we’re so happy to hear the good news from her aside from their safe trip back home. Congratulations dear Maileen! Another Twitter baby for this year.
And now for the weekly round up. Need to make sure that I’m up to date with my 365 Project. I’m happy that I’m keeping up with it. I’m much better than last year. I guess because using my iPhone cam was much easier for me this year. I can’t make the best shots for each photo, but the sense of taking shots every day is always there. It’s like a diary for me to remember as each day passes by. I’m crossing my fingers that I can scrap one day for this photo project. Insha Allah, God willing.
Day 60 – My Arroz Caldo also known as Rice Congee. During the first trimester of my pregnancy, I craved for this meal. I had to run down and visit my aunt when we were still on vacation just to taste her preparation for this food. I ate 4 bowls that time, imagine that? It’s meal prepared with rice, chicken and lots of ginger. Topped with fried minced garlic and scallions.
Day 61 – Dearest big sister ate Julia sleeping like a log.
Day 62 – Nutella + Chocolate drink and bread is loved.
Day 63 – 25 weeks
Day 64 – Showing off a big smile for this week from the big sister.
Day 65 – Chicken Tinola also known as Chicken Stew served with garlic, zucchini and, chicken and cabbage. I can say that this is MIL’s one of her favorite Filipino dish so far. She loves the ginger soup and the taste of the chicken.
And just to update you with my 365 project for this week. View all photos over my Flickr account here.
Day 51 – Julia hugging Jollibee getting ready to go out on a cold night.
Day 52 – “Kanafeh” one of my favorite Arab’s sweets.
Day 53 – A stolen shot taken by Julia using Hipstamatic app on my phone, not bad right?
Day 54 – Seriously watching “Beauty and the Beast”
Day 55 – Cooked Chicken “Sopas” or Soup in English. A famous Filipino dish cooked with shredded chicken, carrots, cabbage and milk.
Day 56 – Julia trying on her aunt’s hair cover, hehehe!
Day 57 – Cooked Cheese sticks for midnight snack.
Day 58 – Julia with MIL’s treat, Banana crepe.
Day 59 – Me at 24weeks and 2 days. Getting bigger.
How your baby’s growing:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he’s even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you’d be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he’ll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
How Am I Feeling?
I’m feeling much better compare to the last months. I’m eating well and I’m getting lots of movements from baby Julie every night too. Right now I sleep on my sides. I can’t sleep straight on my back. I feel bloated already. My tummy’s so itchy every morning. Needs to put lotion every now and then to avoid scratching it too. My eyes however still has those dark areas under my eyelids. Cause of lack of sleep I guess. Well, I’m happy that we’re almost half way seeing our little Julie. Can’t wait to see her.
How your baby’s growing:
Your baby’s sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don’t be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
See what your baby looks like this week.
How Am I feeling?
I feel weird. My tummy’s getting a bumpy already. I’m wearing my maternity pants as well every time we go out. Still craving for a lot of food which I couldn’t find here in SAR right now. I’m loosing weight – which is not what we all expect. I’m now weighing 45kgs. The last time I checked, I was 43kgs. We’re thinking that the 2kgs is because of the baby not because I’m getting bigger. I don’t eat that much as well. I don’t have my appetite to eat and it’s killing my husband for it. So my in-laws are trying their best as well to feed me. We had to go out every 2 days just to change my mood. I hate my hormones – honestly! and I don’t like the feeling that I’m special just so because I’m pregnant. But never the less, I’m thankful and blessed to have such a supportive family-in-laws during the absence of my parents.
I’m emotionally inclined as well with my mood. I hate seeing my husband in the morning. So what he usually do is that he will not talk to me that much in the morning instead, he’ll just give a quick kiss good morning to avoid me being in a bad mood. Yeah I know, I’m one lucky girl.
I was MIA for quite some time. I was (again) on a bed rest. I felt pain on the lower part of my back and my body doesn’t have the strength as well to go out of bed. I lay down on my sides twisting from side to side every now and then. I realized those days while I was at rest that I missed my Mom and my Dad so much. Really thank God for technology, Skype is just a click away and I was able to talk to them yesterday. Sigh… but I’m lucky and thankful as well because my family-in-laws are the greatest people beside me right now. Mama and Papa, SILs and even BIL was there to look after me for the last 2 days. Thank you so much to all of them.
I feel much better now, thank God. But I have to do some work errands online and need to finish reading some article about lipozene reviews as soon as possible before it run out of me.
Thank you for my Twitter Prayer Warriors for praying for me at times when I needed it most.
Hi there folks!
First I would like to greet you all a very happy new year! May this year brings forth good health as always for all us for the year 2011 and looking forward for more blessing. So go ahead and fit on your dereon jeans which you received from during the holiday season.
2010 has been a good year for me. I’m thinking to jot down the things that happened for the past months on my next post.
The reason for giving this post on bed rest is because I’m currently on bed rest again. I’ve been dehydrated due to continuous diarrhea for 6 days and it’s not a good sign especially since I’m on my 4th month of pregnancy. I’m trying my best though to update this blog of mine. I feel much better now after finishing 2 bags of sodium chloride. I feel blessed for having my in-laws beside me and of course my undying support from my husband who took care of me during this time. Thank you Sweety, Mama & Papa for being there for me always.
How your baby’s growing:
This week’s big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he’ll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you’re having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby’s stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body’s growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that’s in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He’s starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby’s liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it’s doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can’t feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist’s hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
How am I feeling?
Well, I’m so happy I’m out of the 1st trimester. I don’t feel dizzy and I don’t have morning sickness anymore. Thank God Alhamdulillah! However, I still feel kinda lazy and would prefer to sleep rather than walking. Hunger strikes every 3 hours. I’m still craving for food. And I’m asking for all types of Pinoy food that I can eat and wish for while I’m still here. Last night, I requested for old time favorite, Champorado aka Chocolate Rice Porridge. The other month I craved for Arroz caldo or Rice Congee. This is what I’ll surely miss during pregnancy. Anyway, we’re hoping to have a test early next year so that we could check little peanut’s gender. I’m praying for a boy.
How your baby’s growing:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She’s already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won’t feel your baby’s acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.
How am I feeling?
Well, I’m okay. I have mixed emotions lately, but little peanut and I are okay. Alhamdulillah, thanks God. I was on a bed rest for 2 days as advised by my sister’s OB. I was stressed in some ways, but thankful that baby wasn’t affected with all the thinking I’m into right now. I’m drinking 5 types of medication right now and will take it for a month. Need to boost out my immune system as well. I was told that I’m anemic too. Iron was one of the medicines I’m taking right now. Baby’s growing up fast. I do have this bump already but in the morning, my tummy remains flat. But after eating breakfast, there it goes again. I’ll try to do a pregnancy portrait soon. I need to update as much as I can with baby #2 for record’s sake. Now need to read some views on ghr1000 reviews.
How your baby’s growing:
The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you’re daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that’s the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.
How am I feeling?
Weird. Exhausted. Stress. And most especially, I’m so sleepy! I can’t even blog properly. I’m really sorry until now I haven’t updated my 365 days project. I need to updated 279 up to now. And I only have a few more weeks before our vacation starts. Oh blogging mojo, please visit me soon! Please! I need as well to scrap an invite for baby J’s 2nd birthday. I’ve spoken to my niece who’s currently organizing the birthday stuff back home and she said that everything is okay. They are just waiting for the people I want to invite. Well, baby #2 is not that cooperative lately. He wants mommy to take a long sleep and eat a lot. I think he’s preparing for a grand entrance that’s why. But I’m thankful though because even if I have this up and downs mood swings, Hubby’s there to support me all the way and he even understands my feelings from time to time. Thanks again for the warm greetings on welcoming our peanut. We’re asking your prayers for us to have a safe pregnancy.
That reminds me, I need to put up a baby widget again on my side bar. Hihi! Déjà vu.
Me and baby bump #2 on it’s 7th week. It showing up already at this early. Shucks! I guess what older people say is true. The 2nd baby will show up early and bigger. I’m having a hard time right now. Craving and morning sickness which I’ve never experienced during my first pregnancy. I do hope that I’ll get along fine for another 2 more months.
This is the reason why I’ve been away for quite some time. I’m missing a lot of my blogging mojo – and this is because, we’re expecting another bundle of joy. I’m now exactly 7 weeks. We found out last Wednesday. I wasn’t able to write up since I’m being so lazy these past few days. All I wanted to do is to sleep and eat, and sleep and eat. For now, please bare with my laziness.
