We Thank You!

On behalf of my husband, we would like to thank our family and friends who prayed with us while Hubby undergoes Laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The procedure including the waiting time exactly took 2 hours and 7 minutes. Yep, I was that conscious with the time.

My reason for being MIA over IG for 2 days.Thank you for praying with us. The procedure took exactly 2 hours. Konti nalang nakuha sa kanyang gallstone. Siguro kung hindi kami nag flush out 3wks ago, baka mas marami pang nakuha. Hehehe! He'll come home insha Allah tomorrow (that's today na pala kas

I had to take photos while he’s in the hospital for remembrance. His stones were so small. I think we flushed most of it 3 weeks ago. We had to do something to reduce the pain he was going through every other day. So we tried the cleansing procedure which includes fasting, 1 pint of Olive oil and half pint of squeezed lemon. I can’t bare the pain of seeing him in pain while waiting to be scheduled for this operation. We waited for 3 months for this, so we’re really thankful that it’s now finish.

Hubby’s home and is currently recuperating. We hope that he’ll get to his normal activities in a week’s time. Again, thank you for keeping us in your thoughts.

How to Improve Your Concentration during Menopause

If you feel as though you are losing your mind, or wondering if it is possible to develop
Alzheimer’s in your 40s, don’t despair- it may be menopause. Inability to concentrate is one
of the many symptoms of menopause that can make you feel as though you are slowly losing
control of your faculties. Not to worry: many women experience difficulties with memory and
concentration during menopause.

Why does this occur? If you think about all of the changes that your body is experiencing, you
will begin to realize that something’s got to give, and that something may just be your ability
to concentrate. For example, your sleep may be disrupted by night sweats. You wake up tired,
feel exhausted all day, and then go to bed at night to begin the cycle again. Mood changes
associated with menopause, such as depression, anxiety and irritability, also affect your ability to concentrate, as do near-constant hot flashes. It’s actually remarkable that women can remember their own name and concentrate long enough to dress themselves properly in the morning, let alone complete any task more complicated than this!

So what can be done to improve concentration? If you are finding that your concentration is
suffering, try these remedies:

Get more sleep- lack of sleep may be the largest contributor to concentration problems. Try to ensure that you are getting an adequate night’s rest. If night sweats are an issue, try putting a fan in the room. Wear night clothing that will wick moisture away from your skin and toss those silk sheets. If you are suffering from insomnia, you may want to try a natural supplement such as valerian, kava, melatonin, or chamomile; if natural remedies are ineffective, consider talking to your physician about a prescription sleep aid.

Hit the gym- exercise improves blood flow, which can certainly help if you are having difficulty concentrating. Just 20 to 30 minutes of exercise can make you feel more mentally alert. Not only will you be able to concentrate better, but you will also get the added benefit of keeping your waistline trim. In addition, the natural endorphins released by your brain when you exercise can improve your mood and decrease aches and pains as well. Although you may not feel motivated to exercise, exercise has many benefits during menopause.

Improve your diet- a poor diet may contribute to decreased ability to concentrate and “brain fog”. Make sure you eat a complete and balanced diet, including lean proteins, dairy products, whole grains and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Isoflavones (natural phytoestrogens) found in soya are believed to improve many of the symptoms of menopause, including brain fog.

In fact, women in Asia who eat a diet high in soya foods have fewer menopause symptoms.
Omega-3 fats (such as those found in oily fish) are also thought to increase brain power.

Antioxidants (found in fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts and cereals) prevent cell damage and are thought to be very good for improving brain function. Menopause products like Kuhl Care (http://www.kuhlcare) can also provide the exact nutrients that women need during menopause.

Use it so you don’t lose it- in order to improve memory and concentration, try activities that
encourage you to use your brain. Sudoku puzzles, crossword puzzles, card games and any other activity that stimulates you to think and problem solve will help to keep your mind sharp and your attention focused.

The most important thing to remember about the cognitive changes associated with
menopause is that it is a temporary state- cognitive symptoms will disappear, as will all the
other symptoms that may be plaguing you. Women can and do survive menopause with their
brain function intact, and you will too!

Prayer Warriors

The Muslim observes his Prayers to show devotion and obedience to Allah, because Prayer is one of the greatest forms of worship that Allah likes His servants to offer. To thank Him for creating us in the best form of creation. Prayer is a chance for a Muslim to express to his Lord whatever he feels and needs through Divine Words of Allah.

Five Things to Do with your ALT Key in Photoshop and Elements

Most Some All Digitalscrapbooking lovers I believe are using Photoshop to create their perfect layout. I started using PS only last 2009 when a friend told me to try it since you can play around with the shadowing of all elements and papers you would like to use. I wish I could learn more short-cut keys with PS. I only know ctrl+Z – for safety reasons hahaha!

I read an post from Jennifer White’s blog re 5 things you can do with the ALT key. But these is for Mac users. I will still post it here because I’m claiming that someday I will be a Mac user too – crossing my fingers and keeping the faith. Sharing it an incite to her post:

Now I use those shortcuts without even thinking; I have to pay close attention when writing tutorials to what I’m actually doing. I’ve gathered here for you five of my favorite things to do with the ALT (Mac: OPT) key:

  • Duplicate layers.
    Change foreground color.
    Unlock a background layer.
    Cycle through tools.
    Make a black layer mask.

Chosen One More Time

This kit is on sale now for only $5.59 – I got it all for free.

Gina of Digital Design Essentials recently made this as sneak peak before her launch. Leave a comment and she’ll choose a random winner for the kit. There were 58 commenters, and I was the lucky one among them. Hihihi! This is the 2nd time for me to win on giveaways like this. Keep it coming!

Good thing that ate Jen told me that she saw my name when this showed up on her feeds. I on the other hand was offline that time. I wouldn’t know that I won if it weren’t for ate Jen. I checked on my recent activity as to which page I last commented on to. And voila! I really did win after all.

Lucky indeed are on my way. Thanks again Gina for the chance. If you wish to see more of her creations, LIKE her page on Facebook. Or vsit her blog for more details.

She’s On The Way

I was browsing over recent update of my friends over Facebook, and I came across the page of  my childhood best friend who announced that she’s finally pregnant last month. I feel sad though that we’re no longer that close like before. When I read her post, it was a mixed feeling. I feel happy that she’s expecting of course. But I’m sad that communication made our friendship like a second option already. We used to send messages over BBM to check on one another. I hope that she still remember me, because her friendship is one thing I’ll never forget.

Here’s me and her catching up last 2010 while celebrating my big 30. I miss you Ping! I hope that you’ll have a baby girl. Will be looking forward to shop adorable baby girl clothing soon.

Iftar at al Sharjah Dhow Restaurant

The other day, SIL’s husband took us to a restaurant near our place. It’s our first time for this month to dine in for Iftar. So you wouldn’t believe how happy SIL was that day. She was counting the nights on how many time I’ve washed the dishes. It’s an open buffet you the food war overflowing.

Iftar at Al Sharjah Dow Restaurant.Snag from SIL's phone. O db, ang gulo ng mesa namin? Hahaha! Ako naka smile pa, si Abed nagpapakain ng bata. Baliktad! Hahaha!!!

Alhamdulillah for everything. And I’m so blessed to have a family like them. No words can express how truly blessed I am for being part of this family. Masha’Allah!

American Idol Season 11 Live Tour 2012

Are you a fan of AI? Well if yes, then you have to get ready and see them perform in the Philippines on September 21, 2012.

The last time I watched AI was when Jasmine Trias was in for a battle. I don’t know which season is that. She didn’t win though. But we were cheering up for her and hoping she gets the title. This year, another Fil-Am contender. She may not have won the title as the American Idol (again), but she’s an idol to the Philippine society now. And we’re proud of her. Proud to be Pinoy.

See below for more details for this event. Save the date if you want to see them perform live.

Just as powerful as their voices are, I have to read on and check out these Hydraulic Power Units too.

Complete from A to Zinc

Hubby bought me these two vitamins that he wants me to drink everyday. To make sure that my weight will somehow gain for the next few weeks. And for somehow my appetite will come back. Lack of sleep because of Ramadan put me and my health at risk, so he hoarded lots of vitamins for me to take. There’s still Vitamin B1 & B2 that he bought last March which I’m already taking. 2 tablets twice a day.

Dahil sa LQ, I didn't eat nor drink for 41hrs. Shet! Nakaya ko un. And ako na baliw dahil ginawa ko un. Hahaha! Wag ko na daw ulitin sabi ni Abed. He bought me Centrum and Vit-C ng di oras. Hahaha! Takot rin pala madedo ako. Shet na pag-ibig yan oh.

Alhamdulillah for such a loving and caring husband. We might be in a tough situation right now, but we never forget how important we are for one another. Hence, to make sure that we are fit and healthy to take care of each other.

Yeah, it’s just one of those mushy post you see from time to time, hahaha! Love is in the air.

SAve The Date 9.13.2012

Are you ready fellow Gleeks? Save the date! It’s official. It’ll be on air less than a month. I can’t wait to see Finchel on the screen once again. I’ve been following Ryan Murphy over Twitter as well to check every now and then for some Tweet leaks for this Season 4. His account is @MrRPMurphy over Twitter. He also tweets news about the much awaited horror series that me and my husband are addicted too. I’m talking about the American Horror Story. OMG! As you all know, Adam Levine will be on it. Can’t wait! It’ll be a good month to end the 2nd quarter of this year.

Waaaaahhh!!! @aggietha @adacharmed are u ready? Gleek out. Hooot!

Medal Count–Olympics 2012

A total of 78 countries has received medals (gold, silver and bronze) for this year’s Olympics 2012 in London. Is your country one of them?

Philippines unfortunately hasn’t received any. It’s ok. I know they did their best. The other nationality that I hold which is from Lebanon don’t have any medals as well. They have 10 athletes participating for this year, while Philippines has 11.

Below is the top 3 countries which has the most medals for this year (as of August 11).

As expected, it’s always a head to head match between China and US. And believe it or not, I missed watching the games. I was hoping to see the Gymnastic and Swimming competition. But I don’t find time to watch live on TV since I have tons of things to prepare because of Ramadan.

I noticed that Arab countries did a good job this year I believe. Saudi Arabia went home with a Bronze for the Equestrian. Qatar brought 2 bronze medals from Shooting and Men’s High Jump competition. Kuwait (for Shooting) and Bahrain (Women’s 1500m) with 1 medal each. And I’m surprised that Egypt went home with 2 silvers (1 Fencing and 1 Wrestling). That’s a very good news to bring home.

Today is the last day for the Olympics. Closing ceremony will be at  21:00hrs. I missed the opening ceremony, I hope that I can at least watch the closing this evening. Will be setting an alarm for that since that will be 12:00am (Aug13) on my time.
