It’s the 14th day of Ramadan. So far so good. Alhamdulillah. I’m really getting used to not eat until it’s Athan or call for the Magreb prayer. I guess it’s because the willingness to fast is there and you really feel how blessed you are for the food in the dining table once you’re all ready to eat. Alhamdulillah, thanks be to God.
Not for me, for a friend. Her fiancé arrived from Japan a few days ago and gave her a new engagement ring. I wonder if he looked over those dazzling designer engagement ring for her. I’m so happy for this couple. They will tie the knot by tomorrow. I will just wait for the wedding pictures to be posted on their Facebook account since our presence will not be possible. I made this layout for them by the way. And I’m glad that the bride to be loved it. It’s the only gift I can gave them aside from lots of best wishes.
My favorite word is: OKI NGAROD
I don’t know any Ilocano words aside from “ngarod” meaning you agreeing on something with it (I think) and “mangan” meaning “let’s eat”. My mother is born in Pozorrubio Pangasinan while my dad is born in Manila but grew up Cebu, but pursued his studies in Manila where he and my mom met. Anyway, I always use this word in replace to just saying “Okay…”. And the funny thing is that my husband will even reply by saying “Sige na ngarod…” hehehe!

Mr. Musaharati or also known as dawn awaker strikes his drum to wake people up to prepare their sahur before the call of prayer for Al Fajr. It’s like a warning to all residence that in a matter of 15 to 30 minutes, fasting will start. Julia loves to see him pass by our back street. She shouts with excitement “Momma, it’s Mister Zahayuti…”
I’m happy that they still practice this tradition here in Damascus. This is my 2nd time to experience Ramadan here in Syria. The first time was last September 2007. I think it’s still the same Mr. Musaharati. He has a good and loud voice if I may say so.
I found the best wedding gift for my Mom and Dad. It’s too late for that actually but it’s better to be late than never. A few years ago, I bought them a gold chain necklace, but I wasn’t able to buy a pendant for each. So I found these 14k gold cross that will suit those chains. These three designs are the perfect ones for me. I hope that I can save up for it. My parents will surely love these.
I so wish I can avail this offer in Artscow. It will end this 5th of August. I wanted to avail, but I’m refraining myself to do so. I’m saving up right now. And even if I order, I will not have the address to have it shipped. Hayst. I do hope that next time, I’ll be able to order a PB for my kids. I need to do as well our UK trip too.
And so I decided to create a page for them. Why? Well, I don’t post anything on my FB account anyway, except for my kids’ photos. I’m even thinking of not updating my personal account, instead just to use this page. Click on the image below to be directed on their page. I hope you’ll like it too.
This page is for fun only. So that as they grow up, especially with the big sister ate Julia, they’ll see how amazing blessed they are to have people liking them and looking forward for their growth through pictures.
Today is the start of fasting. It’s the Holy month of Ramadan. I greet all my fellow brothers and sisters in Islam a “Ramadan Kareem”. May this fasting brings you closer to our creator and have thy peace for being close to Allah God Almighty and merciful.
This will be my 4th year as a Muslim to practice one of the pillars of Islam. This month is so holy because God is much closer to us. So in each prayer, make each moment meaningful.
